Apple's latest iOS update brings with it some new Apple Intelligence features.

Apple's iOS 18.2 update is nearly here, set to launch on December 11, 2024. This update introduces some exciting new features, with major enhancements to Apple Intelligence. One of the most anticipated additions is Genmoji, a tool that lets you create custom emojis directly from the emoji keyboard. By simply typing a description, you can instantly generate new emojis, offering up to four variations to choose from.
Additionally, Image Playground and Image Wand are tools that let users create images and enhance their visuals. With Image Playground, you can craft original images based on descriptions or prompts, while the Image Wand enables iPad users to generate dynamic visuals using the Apple Pencil.
This iOS update is a significant leap forward for Apple’s AI-driven features, allowing users to inject creativity directly into their devices.
iOS 18.2 release notes: 4 features to get excited about
Per 9to5Mac, these are the big features Apple included in its release patch notes for iOS 18.2.
Genmoji
Genmoji allows users to create custom emojis using text prompts. If you find yourself wanting an emoji that doesn’t exist, simply type a description and generate one tailored to your needs. This feature fills the gap for emojis that don't yet exist but are highly relevant to the conversation.
Image Playground
Image Playground is a versatile tool for generating new images or modifying existing ones with AI. You can create entirely new visuals by providing text prompts, or take photos from your library and add elements using AI. Afterward, share the results through Messages or other apps.
Visual Intelligence
Exclusive to the iPhone 16, Visual Intelligence offers a way to analyze objects by simply taking a photo with the Camera Control button. After snapping the image, AI can provide detailed information, highlight any text within it, or even use Google Search for additional context.
ChatGPT Integration with Siri
iOS 18.2 introduces ChatGPT integration with Siri. If Siri encounters a question that would be better answered by ChatGPT, it will offer the option to consult OpenAI's chatbot directly. This integration works seamlessly within Siri, without requiring a separate ChatGPT account.
